WHEN LANVIN LOVES H&M

H&M is proud to announce that its next designer collaboration will be with Lanvin, one of the most influential brands of the 21st century. Designed by Lanvin’s artistic director Alber Elbaz, and menswear designer Lucas Ossendrijver, the collection will go on sale on November 23 in around 200 H&M stores worldwide. The collection of both womenswear and menswear will be revealed to the world on November 2, just three weeks before the clothes hit the store, making the launch of Lanvin for H&M among the most anticipated fashion events of the year.

“H&M approached us to collaborate, and see if we could translate the dream we created at Lanvin to a wider audience, not just a dress for less. I have said in the past that I would never do a mass-market collection, but what intrigued me was the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public. This has been an exceptional exercise, where two companies at opposite poles can work together because we share the same philosophy of bringing joy and beauty to men and women around the world.” Alber Elbaz, artistic director of Lanvin.

the Lanvin for H&M collection will be revealed to the world through a special film which will be launched on November 2. The film will be available for all to see online at www.hm.com. Following the film’s debut, it will be just three weeks before customers have the chance to get their hands on a covetable piece of Lanvin for H&M.

TRENDS REPORT: BOOK PRINT SPRING SUMMER 2011

SMILEY INSPIRATIONS TRENDS BOOK, S/S 2011
Published by the ModAmont fair, this visual tool interprets the Spring-Summer 2011 trends in terms of accessories and textures. In this book, the 2L.SA style bureau exclusively develops eight style trends for the fair's exhibitors.
Unfamiliar textures and graphic directions, styles put to unexpected uses and eco-design forecast the creative tendencies of the Spring-Summer 2011 season.
This deck of 70 cards is divided into three sections:
- A first section which includes 8 exclusive style themes. Chosen from a blend of men's and women's ready-to-wear, casual and sportswear, this sampling of styles opens with new combinations of textures and designs.
- A second section in the form of a 24-colour shade chart exhibits the leading tonalities of the season
Enchanting surrealism or chromatic blurring, design with a useful soul, or ephemeral sand sculptures, optical aberrations or the grace of invisibility, chiffon paper or dematerialisation, kawai adorable mischief or the new luxury salvage, this book goes through the looking glass of a season that is inspired or quite simply smiley.

BVLGARI: THE NEW SERPENTI WATCH: REBIRTH OF A TIMELESS ICON

Bulgari presents the new Serpenti watch, a contemporary reinterpretation of one of the brand’s most famous icons. The new Serpenti watch is an extremely original model featuring a complex hand-crafted construction that endows it with the stature of an authentic jewellery masterpiece.
Serpenti stems from a fusion between the snake symbol and the Tubogas bracelet, two signature expressions of the inimitable Bulgari style. The figure of the reptile, a symbol of eternal youth and immortality in the mythological bestiary, is an integral and long-established part of the aesthetic universe of the Italian jeweller, and consistently appears in the most striking Bulgari creations.
A wealth of creative variations, constantly reinterpreted according to a perpetually renewed vision and brilliantly marrying the entire palette of the hand-crafted jewellery, enamelling, goldsmithing and watchmaking techniques, give timeless life to the effigy of the serpent.
Radiating an emblematic style expressing the codes that continue to guide the Italian jeweller, Serpenti embodies the quintessence of the values that have earned Bulgari its unique place in the world of authentically creative luxury brands.

THE FLEXIBLE BODY CHANEL AUTUMN-WINTER 2010-2011 HAUTE COUTURE

Soft summer light filters through the glass roof of the Grand Palais. It is 8 pm and Karl Lagerfeld is launching his presentation of the Autumn-Winter 2010-2011 Haute Couture collection he has created for CHANEL. A Golden Lion of Venice, standing 12 metres high, serves as décor to the collection. The lion was inspired by the profusion of curios which can still be seen inside Coco Chanel’s apartment on Rue Cambon in Paris, and reminds us that she was born a Leo, a fire and sun sign of the zodiac par excellence. In the front row, certain high calibre guests can be seen: the American actresses Jessica Alba and Milla Jovovich, the two heroines of Gossip Girl, Blake Lively and Leighton Meester, the French actresses Clémence Poesy, Elisa Sednaoui and Lou Doillon, the Japanese actress Rinko Kikuchi, and the CHANEL ambassadress and actress, Anna Mouglalis.
Short jackets, blouson effect, high waists, and “flexibility” are the key concepts for the 2011 CHANEL suit. Modernised and given a twist by Karl Lagerfeld, this must-have item in the female wardrobe is created from tweed or wool jersey.
Casually dressed hair, boots in leather or embroidered and pleated mittens… the CHANEL woman combines elegance with ease of movement, and exuberance with sobriety. An alchemy which gives rise to all the allure of CHANEL.

LADY MILLION THE NEW PERFUME FOR WOMEN FROM PACO RABANNE

The woman Lady Million
Ultra-feminine, determined and terribly bold, the Lady Million woman is vivacious and natural. She shines with a force drawn from her independence and clever mind. Enjoying life to the fullest, Lady Million responds to the excess of her male counterpart with an unbelievable glamour spiced up with something beyond reality. As complex as she is feminine, Lady Million’s character is all about contrasts. Extravagant yet positive, seductive yet embodying a romantic soul, excessive but never satisfied, Lady Million is a dazzling femme fatale, creative and untamed. No man can resist her; few can truly win her over, except for the charismatic and flamboyant 1 Million Man of course. Sparks fly at this encounter, where seductive games, dreams and fantasies collide in a glittering explosion of two unshakeable and eternal beauties, gold and diamond.
“Tomorrow’s woman will be efficient, seductive and undoubtedly superior to man. It is for that woman that I create my designs.” - Paco Rabanne - 1967
The bottle
“A perfume should be as imbued with meaning as it is light to wear.” Paco Rabanne
Paco Rabanne fashion sets the tone and is an inexhaustible source of inspiration. These dresses are timeless and full of character, made of multiple light-reflecting metal plates. The diamond immediately sprang to mind as the only possible choice, for it is eternal, expressive, glittering, ultra-feminine and breathtaking beauty, forever synonymous with desire and passion. Only a diamond can rival gold. Only Lady Million could take on and seduce 1 Million.
Simple, clear and clean, the Lady Million bottle was designed by Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance and exudes all of the delicateness of a multi-faceted cut. Such technical prowess owes much to an exceptional craft and quality of glass. And just like a diamond, the bottle does not have a specific base, but may be placed on any facet. With a simple architectural feel, it bears a softly gilded metal cap. Sensual, feminine and curved, it sits comfortably in the hand, sprays easily and is quite simply an irresistible precious object.

The scent
Vibrant and sensual, Lady Million is fresh, floral and woody, like a nectar of voluptuous flowers, trailing delicately but still very present. Powerfully seductive, the sparkle of bitter orange with a touch of raspberry reveals the first breath. A burst of neroli follows, smooth and bright. But then the lethal weapon of heady orange blossom slips out of its sheath. Its narcotic sweetness bewitches and grabs all attention. Then, joining with Arabian jasmine underlined by gardenia, the blend soars into something more carnal, yet ever subtle. Now the obsessive pulsing of patchouli enters the fray, pacifying the honey with an addictive and terribly tempting sweetness. Amber spreads to become all enveloping, floating around the beauty, following each movement and offering its most beautiful facets, like a play of light on a diamond.

ROUGE DIOR: A feminine high-precision for the perfect look.

Devastating femininity, high glamour and Haute Couture come together in Rouge Dior, the bestselling lipstick whose unrivalled formula elevates it to silver-screen standards. The last word for lips that are ultra-luminous, marvelously ripe, perfectly smooth and drenched with moisture. Beautiful, flawless and timelessly chic. Creative director:  TYEN. Model: Monica BELLUCI. Fashion editor: Farouk CHEKOUFI.

VALENTINO: The dark side of first love

FALL/WINTER 2010-11 HAUTE COUTURE COLLECTION
Dreams and lightness. Magic and games. The Valentino woman as defined by Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli represents the true essence of Couture today. Dynamic, unconventional, at once fragile and dangerous, romantic and mysterious. A woman who makes no pretense of changing the spirit of tradition, but actually embodies it in a modern way, through forms, textures, proportions and excesses, all inspired by her contemporary lifestyle.

New shapes and volumes. Innovative constructions and proportions. This is a classic collection of day- and evening-wear, defined by the exclusive, innovative feel of its storyline, textures, inventions and technical solutions. Flared, ultra-short dresses and overcoats in formal, gauzy materials appear suspended in space, cast in fabric like sculptures.
Stunning applications of ruches – hand-sewn first on mannequins – grafts of reed- like flounces, and embroideries in relief on silk and double wool, are all a tribute to the legendary know-how of fine tailoring. They maintain the mystery of Haute Couture, worshipping its unique, excessive nature.

Christofle… A modern spirit

Jewelry Collections
Christofle continues its successful venture into the world of jewelry with four new silver collections for the Fall-Winter season.

Elegant, feminine and modern, these collections were envisioned by talented designers like Adeline Cacheux and Nathalie Jean, with whom Christofle, as dedicated as ever to creation, has cemented its ties. A newcomer this season is Violaine Febvret.
In a style reminiscent of the Art Deco movement, Christofle jewelry is infused with a myriad of modern influences, ranging from simple, structured forms to graphic, elegant outlines. The volume, simplicity and fluidity of these architectural gems all contribute to their palpable harmony. These forward-thinking designers delight in playing with the variable geometry of half-disks, half-spheres, squares and circles, instilling the entire collection with a distinctly Cubist spirit.

From the subdued sophistication of daytime jewelry to the glamour and intrigue of evening wear, Christofle’s new collections are synonymous with the natural elegance of silver, its alluring reflections and luxurious feel. Cuff bracelets, necklaces, chains and earrings are an integral part of Christofle’s highly structured jewelry lines. Each piece reflects a subtle equilibrium of line, form and material that pays tribute to the single, unwavering quest for utter modernity.

"Gem Gem", designed by Nathalie Jean
Necklace, pendant, chain bracelet and earrings
In the wake of the triumphant "Pythagore" collection launched in January 2009, Nathalie Jean's second line for Christofle features an almost mathematical quality that is offset by an airy, extremely feminine touch.
The "Gem Gem" collection takes a playful poke at the traditional codes of fine jewelry as if to mock its conventional solemnity. Presented in multiple facets, the diamond motif, deprived here of its volume, becomes a testament to simplicity. This motif exudes a poetic character and "solid silver" hallmark, which seems to wink at the stereotypes of ostentatious luxury.
The long earrings, highly ornamental necklace and fine, lacelike silver markings are surprising and romantic. The overall effect is a testimonial to the virtuosity of silver craftsmanship that brings to mind ornaments fit for modern-day princesses.

"Attractive", designed by Adeline Cacheux
Simple necklace, plastron necklace, pendant, bracelet and earrings
The creator of some of Christofle's most iconic jewelry, Adeline Cacheux, presents her newest collection, "Attractive". This seasoned designer will debut a flexible cuff bracelet as an addition to her best-selling "Les Enchaînés" collection.
The new "Attractive" collection is made up of a series of stacked silver half disks, which appears to undulate upon the skin. The sensual, yet subtle geometry of the motifs infuses the silver with a sense of movement and grace.
An eye-catching, voluptuous silver necklace and an elegant circular bracelet are the masterpieces of this collection, adroitly mixing both Art Deco as well as various other artistic and cultural influences.

Beauty of movement, beauty of matter

Haute Orfèvrerie Collection

Urban Facet”, design Karim Rashid
Vase and Bowl/Centerpiece
An unprecedented and triumphant collaboration between American designer Karim Rashid and Christofle offers up a truly sensual and emotional experience. Karim, one of the biggest names in international design, combines his Pop Art-like world with Christofle’s knowledge of silvercraft to create two monumental pieces, a vase and bowl that are functional works of art.
Fashioned as exclusive pieces from Christofle’s Haute Orfèvrerie workshops, Karim designed the vase and bowl with ultra-modern lines and unique, geometric shapes. To produce these two exceptional creations, the designer called upon the elite technical skills of Christofle’s master craftsmen, many of whom are “Meilleurs Ouvriers de France,” the highest and most prestigious honor for silversmiths in France. The artist created these pieces with the belief that the ultimate purpose of design should be to embellish and further beautify our environment.
The beauty of Karim’s designs is channeled through the exquisiteness and quality of the craftsmanship.
Silver building: Vertical and commanding in presence, the vase rises up like a futuristic re-imagining of urban architecture. The angled, ultra-polished and mirrored facets are etched into the silver like sleek, modern windows.
Silver leaf: The bowl, or centerpiece, feels like an organic representation of a leaf’s architecture. The vein-like markings on the silver invite an exploration of its hidden stems, shapes and angles.
Christofle Silver, planished and shaped by hand, each piece is enhanced by a gleaming mirror-like finish.
Limited series of 20 signed and numbered pieces.
Of Egyptian origin, Karim Rashid lives and works in New York. Produced in over 35 countries, thanks to his many designs, and the winner of over 300 awards, he is one of the most prolific designers of his generation. His award-winning designs include spectacular lamps for Artemide, furniture for Magis, high-tech products for LaCie and Samsung, and luxury goods for Veuve Clicquot and Swarovski… His designs, immediately recognizable by their pop art colors and forms, are featured in the collections of over twenty museums around the world and also regularly exhibited by leading international art galleries.

Saint-Tropez, CHANEL 2011 Cruise Collection

New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Venice and now Saint-Tropez, Karl Lagerfeld has not finished taking us for trips around the globe. On Tuesday May 11th, the port of this small village in the Var region hosts the unveiling of CHANEL’s new 2010-2011 Cruise collection.
At dusk, a taste of the vacations ahead reigns over the café Sénéquier. At the famous red lacquered tables, the ambience is relaxed. International journalists greet actors such as Pascal Greggory, Diane Kruger, Gaspard Ulliel, and Elisa Sednaoui, as well as CHANEL ambassadresses Vanessa Paradis and Anna Mouglais.
Opening the collection, models basking in sun and sea arrive in mahogany boats to walk joyfully along the port, looking for a table on the terrace. The show begins unexpectedly and full of humor.
With micro-minis, high-waisted dresses and light blouses, Karl Lagerfeld brings the symbols of the House of CHANEL to meet his idea of Saint-Tropez today. While punctuated with black and white, color is everywhere. Amber browns, absinthe and mint greens, sky and navy blues, and bright pinks appear in block-colors as well as in prints. Light little dresses are presented with infinite different proportions. Some show knees and others flirt with ankles, playing of seduction at any hour of the day with delicately sequinned ruffles, tweeded gossamer and fringed chiffon.
A pastel palette mixes with brights in cotton silhouettes with lightly flared pants and pleated blouses worn with large belts. Jeans remain an essential piece; whether colored or washed, crystal-studded or fringed, they are worn as a second skin. Beachy dresses, frilled bikinis and little sweaters with short sleeves have touches of vichy prints. Tweed jackets and cardigans are worn with chiffon blouses, and the famous CHANEL suit sees another reinterpretation. Embroidered, trimmed and chine?, tweed is worn with bare legs walking in low heels or gold leather grecian sandals. White or black broderie anglaise is married with openwork leather, and the two are destined to be.
Casual-chic looks in suede are decorated with embroideries and with diamond-shaped stitching, while knitwear makes a sensation with black, white, pink and multicolored stripes are decorated with trim or mixed with guipure. For the beach, cage dresses worn over swimsuits suggest a silhouette that is all about seduction.
Accessories are created with the same freedom. Leather sandals in electric colors, bags and totes in patchwork or vichy tweed, and pearl belts bring a sparkling allure to balmy nights.

INSTRUMENTO N°UNO, 10TH ANNIVERSARY OF A WATCHMAKING ICON

INSTRUMENTO N°UNO, 10TH ANNIVERSARY OF A WATCHMAKING ICON

Ten years have passed since Instrumento N°Uno made its entrance onto the watchmaking stage. During this time we have seen many variations, from the most understated for him to the most dazzling for her, of a timepiece considered from its beginnings as a luxury watch. White diamonds, pink sapphires, paraiba tourmalines, tsavorites… to celebrate 10 years of the collection, Fawaz Gruosi, founder and chairman of de GRISOGONO, revisits this icon with a daring, resolutely Pop Art approach.
